But now, a decision looms, a bitter fate, For progress, they say, it cannot wait. No more its beauty, no more birdsongs trill, In the name of man-made plans, we're still. My child, denied the tree's enchanting grace, Its loss, a void that time won't erase. For in this act, where's wisdom, can't you see? To fell a centenarian, a tragedy.
